BREATH is a newly launched project aligned with the Pact for Skills, aiming to build a strong and sustainable Talent Ecosystem in Health Innovation (HI) management in Catalonia, Flanders and Lithuania. The project brings together academic and non-academic organisations to drive institutional change and improve researchers’ career development, mobility and talent retention. BREATH will engage key stakeholders to assess labour market needs, skills gaps and current and emerging career paths in Health Innovation. Based on this analysis, the project will develop the BREATH Experience, offering Early-Career Researchers (ECRs) personalised training and tailored career guidance through enhanced university career services. A key outcome will be the Career Path Guidance Platform, providing ECRs with a central resource to explore HI career paths, identify in-demand skills and access relevant training. The project will pilot and evaluate these solutions across the three regions, contributing to policy recommendations at national and European levels. Overall, BREATH aims to strengthen the European research and innovation ecosystem by empowering ECRs and supporting the development of the skills needed for a competitive health innovation sector.

Two surveys will be launched around the 19th of January, and we would be grateful if you could help us circulate them. The first survey is for HR managers in companies, public administration, and academia, and focuses on exploring the barriers and motivations for them to participate and contribute in a Talent Ecosystem. The second survey is for Early career researchers, and aims to track the different career paths followed by ECR and gather input on the competences required for each path.
