Blueprint alliance for a future health workforce strategy on digital and green skills

Shaping the health and care workforce of tomorrow

What is BeWell?

A project to promote the upskilling and reskilling of the European health workforce

Over the next four years (2022-2026) we will develop a green and digital skills strategy for the health ecosystem that can be implemented at a local, regional, national, and ultimately at the European level through the Pact for Skills.

BeWell multi-stakeholder strategy

A coordinated approach to modernise healthcare

A strained system

European health systems are under pressure, lagging behind when it comes to integrating digital technologies and creating opportunities for the upskilling of health workers.

A complex ecosystem

To address the skill needs and gaps in the health sector, all services must be considered, taking into account the existing disparities within and across European countries.

A unified solution

At BeWell we will co-create training programmes on green and digital skills, respecting and uniting the diversity of Europe’s health ecosystem

BeWell Competence Matrices

BeWell Competence Matrices offer a simple and organized way to define and assess one’s key skills needs to succeed in today’s fast-changing, digital, and sustainable job market!

The BeWell Competence Matrices focus on three critical skills areas that are essential for individuals and organisations to navigate future challenges and opportunities in health systems:

Digital Skills

Digital transformation is reshaping industries worldwide. The BeWell matrices identify key digital skills such as coding, data analysis, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital communication as fundamental competencies.

Green Skills

The shift towards a sustainable and green economy demands specialized competencies. The BeWell matrices include green skills that support the transition to renewable energy, waste management, and eco-friendly technologies.

Next Generation Digital & Green

As the labour market evolves, the BeWell matrices highlight emerging roles that combine digital tools and sustainable practices, enhancing digital literacy and equipping health professionals with the digital and green skills needed for the future of digital health.
